We spent an unforgettable week in Prague, Czech Republic over the Christmas holidays! We learned about a great opportunity for academic mobility for teachers through the AgriSciences-UA Platform and next thing we knew we were lucky to spend the week with the BioResources and Technology Division (BRT) at the Czech University of Life Sciences, Prague.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Roubík Hynek, BRT Director, gave us a fascinating tour of the university. This included the Tropical Agrisciences department and the exciting work they are up to. We also visited the botanical garden, especially admiring the orange and tangerine trees.
Of course, we also visited the BioResources and Technology Division (BRT) laboratory where colleagues including Dr. Yelizaveta Chernush and Dr. Viktoriia Chubur explained and demonstrated what experiments they were currently working on to obtain biogas from various sources.
During our free time we explored the historical sights of Prague. This includes one of the largest zoos in Europe – the Prague Zoo! We especially enjoyed seeing the tigers and flamingos.
